Là-bas (novel)

Deep down ( Original title: Là -bas ) is the most famous work by the French writer Joris -Karl Huysmans. In the 1891 novel, the history of Satanism and modern Satanism is treated. A Black Mass is represented in it for the first time publicly.

Action

A suicidal writer has an affair with a world-weary admirer of his books, which proved to be a participant in Black fairs. After the writer has accompanied her to such a life and is horrified, he breaks off the relationship. He had ultimately only be opened because he himself wrote just on a novel about the medieval Satanists Count Gilles de Rais ( 1404-1440 ).
