La Capital Department, San Luis

The Departamento La Capital (San Luis ) is located in the west of the San Luis Province in the western center of Argentina and is one of nine administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Department of Belgrano, on the east by the departments Coronel Pringles and General Pedernera, to the south by the department of Gobernador Dupuy and to the west by the province of Mendoza.

The capital of the department of La Capital (San Luis ) is the eponymous San Luis.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 168 771 inhabitants (2001) to 193 954 inhabitants in 2005.
