La Foa

La Foa is a municipality in the southern province in New Caledonia. It is located on the main island of Grande Terre, but also other small islands off the coast belong to it. The places in La Foa are: Koindé, La Foa ( main town ), Forêt Noire (La Foa ), Oua Tom, Oui - poin and Pocquereux.

The highest point is in the north of Koindé at 1,051 m.

Culture and sights

• On June 25, 1909 a small steel suspension bridge was opened with cable-stays for pedestrians. This bridge was added to the list of classical monuments in 1984.
