La Futura is the fifteenth studio album by the American blues-rock band ZZ Top. It was included in the foam box Recordings in Houston, Texas and has appeared on 11 September 2012.
Formation
Following the release of the previous album Mescalero ZZ Top 2003 spent the following years touring and live performances. Around 2009 the band started to write new songs. The impetus for the album was producer Rick Rubin, who came up to ZZ Top and offered them to produce a studio album with them.
The first track of the album I Get Paid Gotsta is inspired by the rap song published in 1996 25 Lighters. Chartreuse shows the roots of ZZ Top in Blue Skirt at times of Rio Grande Mud, Have a Little Mercy originated by chance when Dusty Hill and Frank Beard jammed. The piece Flyin 'High set ZZ Top 2011 the famous astronaut Mike Fossum with Dusty Hill are available. This could take a rough mix of the song after being released by NASA on his iPod with the ISS Expedition 28. It's Too Easy Mañana was written by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
Four tracks on the album (I Gotsta Get Paid, Chartreuse, Consumption and Over You) were released as a download EP Texicali in June 2012 in advance.
