LA Galaxy

Los Angeles Galaxy is an American football franchise of the Major League Soccer ( MLS) from Carson, California. The franchise was founded in 1995 and participated in the inaugural season in 1996 on the game mode. The team colors are blue (Deep Space Blue ), gold and white. The name "Galaxy " refers to Los Angeles being the home of many Hollywood stars. Owner of the franchise is the Anschutz Entertainment Group.

Galaxy has claimed the Seattle Sounders the highest average attendance of the entire MLS. One of the biggest fan clubs include the " Galaxians " and the " Los Angeles Riot Squad". Mascot of the Galaxy is " Cozmo ", a frog -like extraterrestrials.

LA Galaxy was the first MLS club that has finished a season with a financial gain. In addition, D.C. United is the only U.S. Galaxy club that won the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

History

1995-1996: The early years

The Major League Soccer was founded in 1992 as part of the award of the World Cup to the United States. The first MLS season was played in 1996. Los Angeles Galaxy was one of the founding members of the new North American professional league. In the first season, Californians reached the first place in the Western Conference and defeated in the final of the MLS Cup against DC United.
