La Jalca District

La Jalca is one of the 21 districts of Peru, from which the province of Chachapoyas in the Amazonas region exists. Where is La Jalca, the city of Chachapoyas should be built first, but was then built further north because of climatic conditions better. Long before the Spanish colonization of La Jalca was the site of a settlement of the culture of the Chachapoyas, whose circular buildings can be found around La Jalca today. Also in La Jalca a museum where you can find various archaeological objects not only, but also some explanations on traditional agriculture.

Traditionally spoken in La Jalca Chachapoyas Quechua, but there is now before the Spanish.

In the north, bordering the district of La Magdalena Jalca to the district, to the east by the districts of Lima and Cochamal Bamba, on the south by the district of Mariscal Castilla and to the west by the districts of Santo Tomas and Tingo.
