La Machine
La Machine is a municipality with 3504 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in central France. La Machine is located in the department of Nièvre in the Burgundy region and belongs to the district Nevers. La Machine is the capital of the Canton La Machine. The inhabitants are called Machinoises.
Geography
La Machine is located north of the Loire, about 25.5 kilometers southeast of Nevers.
History
Was the significance of the community through the coal mines. At times the place had more than 6000 inhabitants.
