La Molina District
La Molina is one of the 43 districts of Lima in Peru. La Molina is one of the more affluent parts of Lima.
Location and population
La Molina covers an area of approximately 65.75 km ² with about 124,000 inhabitants.
La Molina is bordered to the north by Ate, on the east by Cieneguilla and Pachacamac, south to Villa María del Triunfo and San Juan de Miraflores and to the west of Santiago de Surco.
History
The district of La Molina in its present form was established in 1962 during the second presidency of Manuel Prado y Ugarteche.
The name probably comes from a landowner from the colonial era:
