La Palma is a small town in the province of Darién of Panama Central American country with 1,741 inhabitants.

It is the largest city and also the provincial capital of Darien. The town lies at the mouth of the Río Tuira in the Gulf of San Miguel ( Pacific) and has its own local airport (code: PLP). La Palma is often used as the starting point for expeditions in the Darién Rainforest.
