La Patrouille des Castors

The Blue Panther ( La Patrouille des Castors ) is a published 1954-1993 French- Belgian comic series.

Action

A group of Boy Scouts experiencing exciting adventures in their tent camps. Scenes of action are initially included Belgium and France. Subsequent trips it also leads in distant areas such as India, Africa or Asia. The Blue Panther consist of five brave boys whose nickname associated with certain character traits.

Background

MiTacq developed the series after a design by Jean -Jacques Schellens. After Dupuis had accepted the idea, Georges Trois Fontaines advised him to rely on the proven author Jean -Michel Charlier. The scout group originally consisted of six members. Charlier let the boy get away with the nickname Rabbit from the third episode. In Le trophée de Rochecombe MiTacq was supported on eight pages (4-11) by Eddy Paape. The blue uniform was in 1965 in L' autobus hanté replaced by a red shirt and brown pants. Between 1967 and 1971 there was an interruption because Charlier could not provide more stories due to time constraints. Charlier left the series after 22 stories. MiTacq drove up to his death continued alone. The lyrics to Le mort du pendu calvaire and Torrents sur Mesin came from Marc Wasterlain.

Publications

The series was published 1954-1993 in Spirou, and was published by Dupuis in the form of albums and later in the series Tout MiTacq than total output. A new complete edition launched Dupuis 2011. First time at the German series published 1958-1961 in The serene Fridolin. Bastion published written by Jean -Michel Charlier stories in the years 1980 and 1981 as a separate series.

Short stories

Regardless of the main series appeared in Risque - Tout three short stories, wrote Jean -Michel Charlier for MiTacq. The remaining four short stories were from MiTacq themselves and were published in Spirou. A peculiar feature is the two- pus Les totems, where MiTacq drew the five scouts according to their nickname as the Mustang, cat, hawk, buffalo and mosquito. All short stories were summarized in 1984 in the 25th album.
