La Plata County, Colorado

The La Plata County is a county in the southwest of the State of Colorado of the United States. The County has a population of 46 229 inhabitants and an area of 4403 square kilometers. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Durango. The county was named after the La Plata River.
