La Poma Department

The Department of La Poma is located in the northeast of the province of Salta in northwestern Argentina and is one of 23 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the province of Jujuy, to the east by the department of Rosario de Lerma, on the south by the department of Cachi and on the west by the department of Los Andes.

The capital of the department is the same La Poma.

This department is located on the Ruta Nacional 40 with the Abra del Acay one of the highest mountain passes in the world.
