La Prensa (Panama City)

La Prensa is a Spanish-language daily newspaper from Panama City. It was founded in 1980 by Roberto Eisenmann after his return from exile in the United States. Its circulation is 65,000 copies (2010).

Eisenmann's goal was to establish a newspaper that is free of government influence. To ensure the independence of La Prensa, which is headed by a nine-member Board of Directors that is elected by the shareholders of the newspaper.
