La Raspa

The Raspa is a post-1945 in Mexico and Cuba incurred ballroom dancing in the moving 6/8-measure.

He allegedly goes back to a Central American harvest dance and was also spread in Europe since 1950.

More likely, but not used, is the origin of the European Wechselhupftanz straw cutter, which was used in many variants not only in German speaking countries, but also in large parts of Europe and is. Wechselhupftänze as the Raspa derived according to Hans on the Au from a fertility dance of women. Some show pictures of Pieter Bruegel the 16th century already dancing figures that are associated with the straw cutter.
