The town of La Sal is located in San Juan County in the U.S. state of Utah, at the foot of the Manti La Sal National Forest.

La Sal 339 (2000) inhabitants in an area of 118 km ². The city is located near the Colorado river and Canyonlands National Park. It lies at an altitude of 2171 m above sea level

The name La Sal comes from Spanish settlers who named the mountains 'Sierra de la Sal ' - salt mountains.
