La Tortura is a Latin pop - reggaeton song by the Colombian singer Shakira in a duet with Alejandro Sanz. The song was orally on 30 May 2005 as the first single from Shakira's sixth album Fijación vol. 1 published. It was a huge success worldwide and became the most famous Spanish-language song from both players. La Tortura won two Latin Grammy Awards at the 2006 ceremony for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. It tells the story of a woman who breaks down emotionally because her boyfriend has cheated on her and left for another woman. In the course of the song, the man returns and wants to apologize to her. It remains unclear whether both again become a couple.

The director for the music video for La Tortura was conducted by Michael Haussman, the music video has the following contents: Sanz Shakira spying from the apartment of his new girlfriend while she runs through the streets.
