La Visite National Park

The National Park of La Visite is one of two national parks in the Republic of Haiti. The National Park is located in the southeast of the country, extends over an area of ​​about 20 square kilometers and consists mainly of pine forests ( Hispaniola pine, Pinus occidentalis), grassland and areas above 1,700 meters mountain vegetation on the slopes of the highest mountain in the country, the Morne de la Selle.

In the National Park of La Visite find a number of endangered species, including some species occurring only on the island of Hispaniola, a refuge.
