La.Meko Filmfestival Landau

The La.Meko Film Festival Landau is an annual film festival which is organized since 2001 in Landau in der Pfalz. Organizer since 2004, the club Film Festival Landau eV, which is dedicated to promoting the film culture in Rhineland -Palatinate prescribed.

The idea for the event came in 2000 from the student council Media Education / Communication Psychology ( FaMeKo, and the initial name of the festival ) at the University of Koblenz- Landau. The idea was to be open to all amateurs. The first festival was held in the halls of the University of Landau on 13 July 2001. Since 2005, the festival is performed in Landau cinema in the universe.

The festival awards prizes in several, sometimes annually changing categories. Fixed categories: Jury Award, Audience Award, Regional price. Requirements for participation in the festival are: no movies that are longer than 30 minutes without commercials and no more than two entries per participant.
