Labëria

The Labëria (Albanian indefinite form: labëri ) is a region in south-western Albania on the Adriatic and Ionian Sea between Vlora and Saranda at the border with Greece, which includes Gjirokastra and ranges in the north- east to the town Tepelenë.

The area does not form a geographical unit, but consists of several mountain ranges, valleys and plateaus. The long-established Albanian inhabitants of the region are also called " Laben "; they speak their own dialect of Tosk. The Labëria is known for its rich folklore. Until the mid-20th century colorful costumes were widespread and, to date, the polyphonic singing, because of which it is mentioned accompanying Bordunstimme Iso - polyphony maintained.

After Labëria also widespread in large areas of southern Albania version of Kanuns was named.
