Laborec

The Laborec ( German rarely Laboratory [ t] z; Laborc Hungarian ) is a river in eastern Slovakia with a total length of 129 kilometers.

It rises in the Low Beskids (Slovak Nizke Beskydy ) near the border with Poland, then takes a southeast course to the south past the town of Medzilaborce and unites with the city Humenné with the Cirocha. After a semi-circular course in western and then southern direction to the Vihorlat around, past Strazske and further south Michalovce he finally opens to the southerly course and the left-side tributary of the Usch in the Latorica. The water catchment area amounts to 4522.5 km ² and the flow rate reached an average of 54.5 km ².
