Labrador Sea

The Labrador Sea is an arm of the North Atlantic Ocean between the Labrador Peninsula Canadian and Greenland, with a size of around 1000 x 900 kilometers, and an area of ​​841,000 km ². The average ocean depth is 1898 meters, and the greatest depth of 4316 meters. The Labrador Sea is surrounded except in southeastern continental shelf. To the north it passes through the shallower Davis Strait in the Baffin Bay, west of the Hudson Strait ( between Baffin Island and Labrador ) in the Hudson Bay. In the east the Irminger Sea at Cape Farewell, the southern tip of Greenland is adjacent to the Labrador Sea. To the south is the open North Atlantic.
