Lac de Longemer

The Longemer is an ice age glacier, which is located in France, in the Lorraine region, in the department of Vosges. The inflow and outflow of the lake is carried by the river Vologne. It lies on the western flank of the Vosges, in a chain of lakes, the upriver further comprises the Lac de Retournemer and further downstream to Lake Gerardmer. The Longemer is located in the municipality of La Bresse, at an altitude of 735 meters and covers an area of about 76 hectares. Its length is about 2 km, the maximum width of 550 and the depth of 34 meters. The lake is situated in the territory of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges and is easily accessible for sustainable tourism.
