The paint Berg ( Czech Plesná ) counts with its 1,337 meters to the higher mountains of the border area in the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest. It lies on the northern edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park.

Through its flat summit also runs the German - Czech border, on its northern side is the Laka ( Lackensee ), the smallest and highest of the five Šumava cirque lakes.

At the highest point of the little- known paint the mountain opens a boggy meadow; a rock, a mountain cross or view does not exist. Therefore, it is seldom climbed by locals who ascend either on the way from Zwieslerwaldhaus over the Ruckowitzschachten or along the dangerous until 1990 by the Iron Curtain border.
