Lacus Timoris

The Lacus Timoris (Latin for Sea of Fear ) is a solidified lava lake on the Earth's moon, the larger Maria similar to that of the emergence ago. Its average diameter is about 150 km. On the west side lies the lunar crater Hainzel, located on the southern edge of the crater Epimenides and on the northern edge lies Haidinger.

The International Astronomical Union approved in 1978 its name to its General Assembly in Grenoble.
