Ladin people

The Ladin form a Romansh-speaking ethnic group whose members in the north of Italy, South Tyrol east of Bolzano ( Val Badia and Val Gardena ), in Trentino ( Val di Fassa ) and in the province of Belluno (Book stone and Ampezzo ) live.

The Ladin people have their own language ( Ladino ), which is spoken and written in different idioms. In the cultural field Ladin different house types can be distinguished.

As with other ethnic groups an ethnic national identity in the 19th century, with Micurà de beet made ​​a first attempt also developed in the Ladin people to develop a written language Ladin.
