Ladislav Nagy

Ladislav Nagy ( born June 1, 1979 in Šaca, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Kosice in the Slovak Extraliga since July 2013.

Career

Ladislav Nagy began his career in 1995 at the Junior HC Košice. Already in 1996/97 he came to his first assignments with the professionals of the HK Dragon Presov in the Extraliga. There, he scored eleven points in eleven games and was subsequently selected by the St. Louis Blues in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 in the seventh round at 177 position.

After another year in Slovakia, he again spent in Košice, he moved to North America in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL Halifax Mooseheads to. There he was fully convinced, when he scored 71 goals in 63 games and has been during the playoffs in the AHL with the Worcester IceCats, the farm team of the St. Louis Blues, was appointed. There he contributed in the remaining three games in four points.

The 1999/2000 season, he completed then at the IceCats, but also came to his first appearances for the Blues in the NHL. 2000/ 01 he played only rarely for the farm team and frequent for the St. Louis Blues in the NHL before he was transferred in March 2001, together with Michal Handzuš, Jeff Taffe and a first-round draft pick for Keith Tkachuk to the Phoenix Coyotes.

In his first full season in Phoenix, he increased his productivity significantly to 42 points and managed in the season 2003/ 04 as many as 52 points, although he had completed only 55 games due to injury.

During the 2004/ 05 lockout season he played for HC Košice in Slovakia and for Mora IK in the Swedish Elitserien.

After his return to Phoenix, he had to fight again in 2005/ 06 with injuries and had already finish his season in February 2006 because he had to undergo knee surgery. Nevertheless, in 51 games he managed 56 points with a convincing performance.

In the season 2006/ 07 Nagy was again one of the best scorers of the Coyotes, but fairly quickly it was clear that it does not manage the team in the playoffs. On 12 February 2007, he was then transferred for Mathias Tjärnqvist and a first-round draft pick to the Dallas Stars. With the stars he could indeed qualify for the playoffs, but already in the first round, they failed at the Vancouver Canucks.

In summer 2007, Nagy moved to the Los Angeles Kings, but could only participate in 38 games due to injury. In August 2008, he signed a two -year contract for 5.6 million U.S. dollars at Severstal Cherepovets in the KHL. After expiry of the contract Nagy returned in the summer of 2010 returned to Slovakia and was taken from the HK Poprad under contract, for which he scored 29 points scorer in 24 games. In December 2010, he was obliged, together with Ľuboš Bartečko of MODO Hockey. For the 2011/12 season the Slovak moved to KHL rookie HC Lev Poprad. For the team, he scored seven goals in 30 games and twelve templates before his contract was terminated in January 2012 ahead of schedule. A short time later, the Slovak agreed on a contract until the end of the season 2011/12 when HC Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. The following season he again played for MODO Hockey in the Elitserien, before he returned in July 2013 to his hometown club HC Košice.

Internationally

International Nagy came often for the Slovak national team used. He became world champion in 2002 and 2003 he won the bronze medal with the national team.
