Ladislav Vycpálek
Ladislav Vycpálek ( born February 23, 1882 in Vršovice; † January 9, 1969 in Prague) was a Czech composer.
Vycpálek studied at the University of Prague philology and was from 1908 to 1912 studied composition with Vítězslav Novák. From 1907 he worked in the University Library ( later renamed the National Library ) in Prague. In 1922 he founded the music department, which he headed until his retirement in 1942. As a composer, he stepped forward, especially with vocal music ( cantatas, a requiem, choral works and songs ), and he also composed two variation fantasies for orchestra and chamber music.
