Ladyfinger (biscuit)

A sponge fingers ( even cats tongue (from the French langue -de -chat ), known in Austria as Biskotte ) is a Kekssorte from Othellomasse ( a light sponge cake ).

The ladyfingers is sprinkled with sugar and receives its typical form by a slight constriction side in the middle. The dressierfähige mass is sprayed onto paper finished sheets and baked at a moderate heat.

It is also used in ice cream cake and tiramisu or softened as baby food.

Origin

Ladyfingers emerged in the late fifteenth century at the court of the duchies of Savoy (France) and were invented for the occasion of a visit of the King of France. They were later presented as an official pastry of the court and enjoyed with the young members of the court popularity. Also, visitors were offered the biscuits as an example of local cuisine.

Lucky fish

In Vienna ladyfingers are used by some people consumed fish-shaped turn of the year, from back to front - so it was progressing with the economy.
