Ladyhawke (musician)
Ladyhawke (* 1979 in Masterton; civil Phillipa " Pip " Brown ) is a musician from New Zealand. She was known primarily through her song Paris Is Burning. Her stage name is taken from the movie Ladyhawke, whose original title is Ladyhawke.
Life
Ladyhawke has Asperger's syndrome. Her mother is a singer, her stepfather jazz drummer. At the age of eleven, she began to make music. She joined the marching band of their city, whose leader was her stepfather, in as percussionist.
After she finished school, she moved to Wellington. With a friend, she founded the band Two Lane Blacktop. Later she played with Nick Littlemore in the band teenager. Today it plays more than ten instruments.
