LaFerrari

The Ferrari LaFerrari is a super sports car of the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 2013 as the new flagship model of the brand. As the first series Ferrari he has a hybrid drive - a system that is called at Ferrari HY- KERS and was derived from the KERS in Formula 1. As a direct predecessor of LaFerrari applies the Enzo Ferrari. With a total output of 708 kW ( 963 PS), he is considered the most powerful two-seater Ferrari.

General

The car was designed for the first time after a long series of Pininfarina models in the design department of Ferrari and with the models Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder comparable. For the first time in the history of the Ferrari brand was awarded the LaFerrari a series hybrid vehicle presented, which partly is technically based on the Ferrari 599 HY-KERS Concept, which was presented in 2010 in Geneva as a study. The LaFerrari has a 6.3-liter V12 engine with 588 kW ( 800 hp), which has already been installed in different power configurations in the FXX and F12. If necessary, he will be supported in the short term by two electric motors, which make a total of 120 kW. One of these engines deliver its power directly to the double clutch transmission further, the second operates various aggregates, thus relieving the main drive. The time this takes electrical energy is generated during deceleration of the vehicle and stored in batteries, which are located deep down in the vehicle. The maximum speed is given by Ferrari with " over 350 km / h", for a round on the North Loop of the Nürburgring expected the manufacturer a period of less than seven minutes. On the in-house test track in Fiorano he should be with a lap time of 1:20 minutes around two seconds faster than its predecessor Enzo Ferrari.

The LaFerrari, the last but not least is the manufacturer as an image carrier, also, due to its limitation to 499 vehicles the ability to deliver them only to chosen customers - good conditions for the introduction of new technologies which will also be reflected in other models in the future. So pass the monocoque and the body of the car from four different types of carbon fibers. These parts are manufactured according to Ferrari in the Formula 1 department of the brand. Characteristic are also the butterfly doors, which were very similar already seen in the previous model. According to Flavio Manzoni, chief designer of the LaFerrari, may also be a production-based racing version of the car, similar to the FXX to be reckoned. The planned quantity is ten vehicles that have an output exceeding 735 kW (1,000 hp). The sale price will be more than three million euros.

To optimize the handling characteristics, the LaFerrari a carbon - ceramic brakes from Brembo on and an electrically extending rear spoiler. The largest part of the power take-off is, however, generated by the sub-floor.

The name

Prior to the presentation Ferrari made a great secret to the new model. The name " LaFerrari " (Eng. DerFerrari ) was not announced before the presentation by Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.
