Laganas (Greek Λαγανάς ( m. sg. ) ) From 1997 to 2010, a municipality ( officially Dimos Lagana Δήμος Λαγανά ) on the Greek island of Zakynthos prefecture.

The municipality encompassed the southwestern and southern part of Zakynthos. Included in the area are the Marathia Peninsula, uninhabited island Marathonisi in the bay of Laganas and the small rocky island of Agios Sostis. To the east the territory of the municipality extends to the northern limit of the skopos Peninsula and includes the western and northern coast of the bay of Laganas. In line with its expansion, the region is landscaped different. The eastern part of the towns of Kalamaki and Laganas consists of the fertile plain of Zakynthos, which the sea ( Bay of Laganas ) is back bordered by a wide, sandy beach with a length of about 7 km. The middle part of the zone is determined by the hills to the east of zakynthian ridge: it is intensively cultivated, used mainly for the cultivation of olive trees. In these hills is the largest town Pandokratoras. The West is dominated by the mountain range of Zakynthos, which expires in Marathia Peninsula to the south. Here are found mainly on the west coast of the Ionian Sea with extensive cliffs of up to 200 m. The highest point of the municipality, the Kakavitsa with 416 m height, located on the Marathia Peninsula, as well as the second- highest peak, skopos with 413 m.
