Lago Argentino Department

The department Lago Argentino is located in the southwest of the province of Santa Cruz in southern Argentina and is one of the seven administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the department of Río Chico, on the east by the department of CORPEN Aike, on the south by the Departamento Güer Aike and to the west by Chile.

The capital of the department of Lago Argentino, El Calafate.

Tourism

The department has a number of attractions, such as the Argentino Lake, Lake Viedma, the Los Glaciares National Park and the mountain peaks of Fitz Roy. In general, they are visited by the two places in El Calafate and El Chalten.
