Laguna Ensueño National Park Lagunas de Montebello

The National Park Lagunas de Montebello in Mexico was established in 1959. The nature reserve is approximately 7000 hectares in size and is located south of the Mexican state of Chiapas, near the Guatemalan border. The National Park since 2009, a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve and comprises over 50 lakes of different colors. The Lake District is located in the highlands, the climate is mild throughout. Umwaldet are the lakes of pine trees. The nearest town is Comitán de Domínguez.

The park ranges from 1,500 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the landscape is characterized by hills.

The main attractions of the park are the beautiful lagoons and their birdlife. The ruins of Chinkultic from the Classic Maya period are within the National Park.
