Lagwagon

Lagwagon is an American punk rock band founded in 1990 in California.

Band History

The band consists of Joey Cape (vocals), Chris Flippin (guitar ), Chris Rest (guitar), Jesse Buglione (bass) and Dave Raun (drums).

Lagwagon was founded in 1990, Goleta, a suburb of Santa Barbara, California. The band initially called Section VIII, but changed even before the publication of the first album in the name of Lagwagon. This name was supposedly the only one from a huge list was simple, to which all band members could agree.

With their debut album released in 1992 Lagwagon Duh was the first band NOFX next to the label Fat Wreck Chords, which is part of the singer of NOFX, Fat Mike. Until published today Lagwagon all albums there; with the exception of Let 's Talk About Leftovers, which appeared first in Joey 's own label Capes My Records. However, since the company was not sufficient to make a profit, My Records went under soon and as well as Let's Talk About Leftovers was ultimately released on Fat Wreck.

In 1994 they released their second album Trashed. Lagwagon wanted with this album trying to get rid of its image as "Any other band on Fat Wreck Chords ." On this album appeared, inter alia, a cover of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl.

Known International Lagwagon were finally published in 1995 with the album Hoss, is on the cover of Bonanza Hoss to see.

1996 changed the guitarist Ken Stringfellow and drummer Dave Raun, both ex-members of hardcore punk band Rich Kids on LSD to Lagwagon.

The end of the 1990s ebbing pop-punk hysteria did not spare Lagwagon. The band continued to produce panels like Double Plaidinum (1997) and Let's Talk About Feelings (1998 ), but was not as high in the interest of the media. Finally, in 2000 came the album Let 's Talk About Leftovers and 2003 Blaze.

On 31 March 2005 committed founding member Derrick Plourde, who played on the albums Duh, Trashed and Hoss drums, suicide. This was followed on 28 October 2005, the album Resolve, which dealt with the topic.

Lagwagon contributed significantly to making melodic and fast ( hardcore ) punk popular. The band's music is like NOFX, No Use for a Name, Pennywise and Millencolin Stylistic differences are present.

After eight regular studio albums (with Let's Talk about Leftovers represented a collection of sampler contributions, unreleased and new songs ) Lagwagon is one of the most successful bands that have not released on a major label.

Announced in early 2010 bassist Jesse Buglione to his departure from the band. The reason for his departure was Buglione to family and personal reasons. In an interview with an Australian fanzine Joey Cape was short on that Buglione would be replaced by ex- RKL - member Joe Raposo.

After a few years out Lagwagon were with No Use for a Name in summer 2010 in some European (including German ) Festivals to see them live.
