Lahinch
Lahinch (also Lehinch, Irish An Leacht ) a place with 607 inhabitants ( as of 2006) in the same townland, is directly located in County Clare in the west of Ireland, on the Atlantic.
The place is located at the Liscannor Bay and has a few pubs and shops. At Lahinch the Inagh River empties into the Liscannor Bay.

Place name
The English name of the place is the anglicized spelling of the older Irish name of the townlands in which the location is situated: On Leithinse ( " the peninsula "). Today, both the Town and Country is the place in English are designated Lehinch (local Lahinch ).
In Irish today carry both the Town and Country is the place the name An Leacht ( " the tomb " ) by the ancient Irish name of the place Leacht Uí Chonchubhair ( " the tomb of O'Connor's "). In Irish, the full form of the name of the place is used, but in modern spelling: Leacht Uí Chonchúir.

Lahinch is considered in terms of surfing as one of the best places in Ireland, which is also seen in the variety of surf schools in the town. However, access to the beach is sometimes very cumbersome at high tide, in a heavy swell even dangerous. Swimming is not recommended at high tide, although most lifeguard on site. There is also a famous golf course.
