Lahoh

Laxoox, Lahoh, ( Hebrew: לחוח ) or Canjeero, somali also laa - HOH is a spongy, pancake -like bread originating in Somalia, Djibouti, and Yemen. In Israel, it is very popular. There it was spread by immigrant Yemeni Jews. In Yemen, it is a popular street food.

The composition and preparation of

Laxoox consists of a sour dough of wheat flour, warm water, yeast and a pinch of salt. The mixture is stirred traditionally by hand until it has a creamy consistency, then set aside to ferment and in a metallic round oven called Daawo baked. The bread can also be cooked without fat in a normal pan.
