Laitaure

The Laitaure is a lake in Lapland, in northern Sweden, which is the Rapaätno, a tributary of the Lilla Luleälven, drained. Sarek National Park is adjacent to the lake. North of the lake lies the 1179 -meter high granite mountain Skierffe, the south side of 350 m vertically and then for another 350 m drops almost vertically to 10 km ² Laitauredelta out. The lake dining Rapaätno is one of the most water-rich rivers in Sweden and leads at the entrance to Laitaure 175 m³ / sec water after the rainy period also 250 m³ / sec and more. The river drains 30 glaciers and transported in accordance with a lot of mud and debris, so that the delta getting bigger every year and the lake is about 50 cm smaller.
