Lajos Bokros

Lajos Bokros ( born June 26, 1954 in Budapest) is a Hungarian politician of the Hungarian Democratic Forum.

Life

At the Corvinus University of Budapest Bokros studied economics. As a high school teacher, he taught at the Central European University in Budapest. From 1991 to 1995 he was chairman of the Budapest Bank. From 1 March 1995 to February 29, 1996 Bokros was as successor by László Békési in the government of Gyula Horn finance ministers in Hungary. He was succeeded as finance minister Péter Medgyessy. Since 2009 Bokros is a deputy in the European Parliament for the Hungarian Democratic Forum.

Bokros is in the EU Parliament member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo
