Lake Angelus is a city in Oakland County in Michigan, USA. The town has 326 inhabitants. In 2000 lived in the village of 326 people.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 km ². Of this, 2.7 km ² of land and 1.5 km ² ( = 35.80 %) to water. The water surface is mainly composed of the same lake, which is completely surrounded by the village. The lake drains west across the Mohawk Lake to Lake Wormer and from there via the School House Lake on the connection between the Loon Lake and Lake Oakland.
To the north and east of Lake Angelus is Auburn Hills, Pontiac and south borders on the west is the Waterford Township. In the east-west direction Interstate 75 leads on the northern edge of the urban area along.
History
Lake Angelus originated at the beginning of the 20th century to the lake, which at that time was called the Three Mile Lake. Most of the settlers were Detroit who moved from the city to the country. In the 1920s, the renaming of the lake was. In May 1930, the village was registered as a Village, which gave the place a partially self-governing. Lake Angelus was incorporated as a city on January 1, 1984.
