The Lake County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, the County had 10,866 inhabitants and a population density of 2 people per square kilometer. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Two Harbors.
Geography
The County is located almost in the extreme northeastern Minnesota, bordered on the north by Canada and on the south by Lake Superior, one of the five Great Lakes of North America. In the southeast, the County is separated by a sea border of Wisconsin. The county has an area of 7746 square kilometers and is bordered by the following Nachbarcountys and districts are:

History
The Lake County was formed on February 20, 1855 from parts of Itasca County. It was named (German: Upper Lake), after Lake Superior, to which the County is adjacent to the south.
Demographic data
According to the census in 2010 lived in Lake County 10,866 people in 5180 households. The population density was 2 people per square kilometer. In the 5180 households lived statistically 2.02 per person.
The racial the population was composed of 97.7 percent white, 0.2 percent African American, 0.5 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.2 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity were 0.7 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
