Lake Havasu

The Lake Havasu is a reservoir on the border of the U.S. states of Arizona and California. The lake is 72 km long and has an area of 67 square kilometers. The Colorado River is dammed to the Parker Dam, an arch-gravity dam.

This is operated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

The hydroelectric power plant has four Francis turbines a total capacity of 120 MW and an annual output of about 450 million kWh. The energy is used to a considerable extent for the pumps, which direct the water of Lake Havasu in the Colorado River Aqueduct to Southern California and in the Central Arizona Project Aqueduct in central and southern Arizona.
