Lake Kaniere

The Lake Kaniere is a lake in the West Coast region on the South Island of New Zealand. It is located 30 kilometers southeast of Hokitika and flows over the Kaniere and Hokitika River in the Tasman Sea off.

With an area of 22 km ², the second largest lake in the West Coast region after the Lake Brunner. At Lake Kaniere near the outlet of the lake there is a small hydroelectric plant.

The lake is used for recreational activities such as water sports and picnics.
