Lake Kolima

The Kolima is a lake in the countryside of central Finland.

The lake has an area of ​​101.08 km ² and is situated at an altitude of 111.2 m. It is divided into two major basins - the northwestern part of the main lake, the south-eastern part is called Matoselkä. The constriction between the two lakes forms part of Puralansalmi. In the catchment area of the Kolima are the northern lakes Alvajärvi, Muurasjärvi, Elämäjärvi and Saanijärvi. In the north of Heinäjoki, the outflow of Alvajärvi, in the Kolima opens. There is also the small town Pihtipudas. In the south of Kolima is dewatered to south lake Keitele.
