Lake Point Tower

The Lake Point Tower is a residential building on Lake Michigan in Chicago, north of the Chicago River

Built in 1968, designed by architects John Heinrich and George Schipporeit, both student of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. When it was completed it was the tallest apartment building in the world.

The approximately 720 condominiums almost all overlooking the lake and a part of the skyline of Chicago.

The facade is made of bronze-colored solar glass with dark aluminum profiles. She is excited as a curtain wall around the building and shows no subdivisions. Due to the strong winds was dispensed with balconies. In a round structure on the roof of the building is a public restaurant.
