Lake Razelm

The Razim Lake or Razelm Lake (Romanian Lacul Razim, latin Halmyris ) is a lagoon lake on the Black Sea in Romania.

Geography

Location

The Razelm lake lies in the historical region of Northern Dobruja in the southwest of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, in Tulcea County. The lake is an ancient bay of the Black Sea which was separated by alluvial deposits from the sea. The Razelm Lake is in the north of Sfântu - Gheorghe arm - the southernmost tributary of the Danube - fed by the channels Dranov and Dunavat so that its brackish water is heavily sweetened and flows Gura Portitei ( ⊙ 44.6885529.00313 ) into the Black Sea.

Villages around the lake

The nearest town is about 11 km ( straight line ) away from the lake town of Babadag. Other places are the community Sarichioi (whose eingemeindeten villages Enisala and Sabangia ), the villages Iazurile and Colina.

Adjacent and nearby lakes

Adjacent to the Razelm Lake are in the south of Golowiza Lake ( Lacul Golovita ) and the Salcioara Lake; in the immediate removal of the Smeika ( Lacul Smeica ) and Sinoe Lake ( Lacul Sinoe ). To the west of the lake lies the Razelm Babadag, in the north of Calica and to the east is the Dranov Lake.

A connection between the Razelm and the Babadag Lake is the Enisala channel.

Climate

The climate of the Razelm lake are dry summers, cold and dry winters; influenced by the proximity of the Black Sea. The average temperature is 11 ° C; the rainfall is 400-450 mm per year.
