Lake Shira

The Schirasee (Russian озеро Шира, Ozero Shira ) is a meromiktischer lake in Khakassia, southern Siberia, Russia.

On the southwest shore is the settlement Schemtschuschny. The Schirasee is 340 km from Krasnoyarsk and 160 kilometers from Abakan. 20 km away from Schirasee is the largest lake of Khakassia, the Beljosee. The water level may fluctuate by 4.5 m. The lake is covered between November and the end of April of a layer of ice.
