Lake Suwa

The Suwa Lake (Japanese诹 访 湖, Suwa- ko) is a lake in the central part of Nagano Prefecture in Japan. 31 rivers lead to the sea water, the Tenryu is the only outlet.

At the lake occurs O miwatari, a fantastic spectacle to. The lake has beneath its surface a thermal spring, so that the deep water is warm even when frozen surface and circulates. This results because of the low water depth to that caused by the pressure linear warping of 30 cm or more in height. The legend says that these walls are formed by the gods on the way across the lake between the various buildings of Suwa Taisha.

The lake surface is located at 759 m. The surface of the lake is 12.9 km ² ( 24th place in Japan ), the scope is 17 km, the maximum depth is 7.6 and the mean depth of 4.7 m. The lake contains 0.063 km ³ of water.
