Caldera Lake

The Towada Lake (Japanese十 和田 湖? / I, Towada -ko ) is the largest caldera lake on the island of Honshu in Japan. It lies on the border of Aomori prefectures and Akita in Towada - Hachimantai National Park.

The lake is 400 meters above sea level. The walls of the caldera rich in some places to over 1000 m in height and reach its peak in the 1159 m high volcano Towada.
