The Valenciasee (also called Tacariguasee; Spanish: Lago de Valencia) is a lake in northern Venezuela.

West of the Valenciasee is the city of Valencia and the state of Carabobo, Maracay and east of the state of Aragua. North of the lake extends a coastal mountain range, south of the lake plains, the Llanos. The Valenciasee was before the Conquista an important center of Native American culture.

Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859) spent some time in the area and made ​​many investigations there.

The Valenciasee is the largest freshwater lake in the country. It is 375 km ² and its depth is an average of 20 and a maximum of 40 meters. The water table is at 405 m. Only about 250 years, the water level fell below the level of the natural process, which is at 427 m. For some time, the water level of the lake rises again, caused by the discharge of wastewater into the endorheic lake and its tributaries.
