Impact crater

The Wanapitei Lake (French Lac Wanapitei ) is a crater lake in Greater Sudbury in northern Ontario, Canada.

Its crater was formed about 37 million years ago by the impact of an asteroid. The flooded impact crater located near the Sudbury Basin, which was created before 1.8 billion years, also by an asteroid.

The lake has a diameter of about 7.5 km.
